About Us
Ensemble Medical Manufacturers PTY LTD (Megrotex Brand) is a South African based company situated in Westmead, Kwa Zulu Natal. We have been manufacturing medical Bandages and Dressings for about 22 years.
The company was started in 1998 with the primary idea of supplying medical bandages of a high quality standard but at an affordable price. It has grown from 1 machine which was operated from one corner in a tiny warehouse in Malvern with 2 staff members to a fully operational facility with 80 staff members.
We now also manufacture First Aid Dressings, CPR Mouth pieces, Trauma pads, finger dressings and other medical textiles. Our products are manufactured under strict hygienic conditions and the sterile dressings are manufactured in our clean room.
Controlled air environment and continuous monitoring environment ensured the award of ISO13485 and CE (European) mark registration. Our facility is also monitored quarterly by an external micro-biologist for bio-burden testing on our products, machinery and staff members. In South Africa we supply to both private and government hospitals, pharmaceutical wholesalers and also manufacture for most of the major chain stores under their OE brand labels. We also export into the UK, Canada and Dubai.
Our aim is to create jobs for South Africans by purchasing from local suppliers as far as possible and to keep our manufacturing within South Africa.
Our goods are proudly manufactured at our factory in Westmead, Durban, KZN, and we employ +/- 80 staff. The majority of our staff, 98.5% are blacks of which 88% are women. We are ISO13485 and Ce certified company, are a level one BBBEE company and are also registered with Medicine Control Council of South Africa (MCCZA) which ensures that quality products are supplied into the markets and to government hospitals and clinics
Our Quality Policy Statement is as follows
‘The Company aims to satisfy regulatory statutory and safety needs and to fulfill customers’ agreed requirements in respect of both product quality and customer service on a consistent basis. The company is committed to maintaining the effectiveness of the QMS. Product quality applies to all aspects of the business throughout the various departments.
Following the requirements of ISO 13485:2016 and MDD 93/42/EEC we can ensure the internal parameters are in place as a framework so that measurable quality objectives can be set, reviewed and most importantly achieved. This ensures our products and services consistently meet or exceed customer requirements’.
